How to be rich
I just happened to chance upon this blog that wrote" to be rich is not by what you have, but what you need less" Today i was walking to a coffeeshop to seam some buns, supposed to be for the cell group that was gathered at my house. I was walking to the mrt when i saw this familiar old lady selling tissue paper. Normally i would just try to avoid hearing her say " kim jua" (hokkien for tissue paper) cause it really just makes me guilty. However today i bought some tissue paper from her for 2 dollars. I dont think its alot of money but i hope it would help to make her life easier a little. Its really heart wrenching to see her squat there with a pile of tissue paper trying to sell them just to make a living. here i am complaining about Pw and how i need new clothes and there is that old lady trying to make a living selling tissue paper. Sometimes i think that i should be constantly exposed to such hardships in Singapore to kick me into reality. I take too many things for granted and never give thanks often. In Evan Almightly, Evan was told to build an ARK to " change the world" as Evan prayed to God. ARK actually stands for A Random act of Kindness. So to change the world we should all start with small acts of kindness to one another. This is really true to me, i am really blessed with alot of things and its time i should give back to the society.
Thats why i am going to volunteer at st luke home for the aged in my holidays! Where i can help old folks in the home be it feed them or change bedsheets or just talking to them. My eyes will tear when i see old folks (esp ah ma's ) having a hardtime in the later stages of life, maybe its because i am really close to my ah ma that whenever i see old people i see an image of her which just spurs me to help them.
O ya my friend ernie started a prayer group in pjc today! He is really brave, if it were me i wont even budge into such stuff. Met some new friends like glen who prayed for me. I think it is really wonderful to be a christian, although we just meet for the first time( me and glen) , i could feel him sincerely praying for my needs. Its like we all know one another really well because we are christians. I thank ernie for this wonderful opportunity and of course my beloved friend Jesus.
Can feel my faith gradually increasing!
