ahhh
Everyday i come home like around 7 plus due to choir, not that i dont like choir but what the hell, everyday of the week. This is really eating into my well being in the area of sleep. Sigh had a sore throat for like a week already and today i had to sing some super high notes for boys. My throat felt like a thread over stretched until the point of breaking it. I think choir people should train our vocal techniques first before introducing us to the songs, since i have no pior background to music or singing.
Just now on the way home, i was really disturbed by this sight. It was this well dressed lady who was properly groomed scavaging through the donation point outside the salvation army. She was like hunting for something that was of use to her and she did not look like she was really in need of something. First she ransacked the place where people usually drop off clothes and bags, then after finding nothing valuable, she moved to the toy section. By that time i was already up the flight of stairs at the overhead bridge and was throughly disgusted at that sight.Someone should put a THOU SHALL NOT STEAL sign there to fend off this ugly thieves in the vicinity.
The good thing i learnt today was during my civics lesson. The project work question from cambridge was given out in class and as you know the retainees didnt have to do it again. Or rather they cannot. i have always had a very bad or negative impression of retainees as the rowdy and aloof bunch of retainees in Jurong JC had etched so deeply a negative connotation to the word retainee. Thus it was no different in my class. I shall be honest and admit that i do to some extent look down on them. howevery things took a different turn today.I remember what the civics teacher said which really hit me hard. She said" You guys are very lucky to have senior J1's in your class! they have greater experience in PW and can really help you along !" WOW that really hit me especially the first part in which we are lucky to have retainees in our class. I never ever had that thought before until today. This really changed my perception of them and now i can honestly without blinking say that i do not look down on the retainees anymore. I have always associated them with words like lazy or untidy or just plain stupid but never greater experience. But now i see the good points in them and this really covers up the bad points that they have. I must admit i am rather naive or foolish to think that i am greater than them in many ways, but now i know that they too are precious in the class. Really thankful for this eye opener , thanks Civics teacher!
